History
Gilman Building History
Built in 1900, the Gilman Building was once home to the factory and sales of the Chattanooga-founded Gilman Paint and Varnish Company, which moved its operations from Market Street to Eighth and Pine Streets. Formerly a furniture store, the space was refitted to accommodate paint production and sales. The Gilman Building is as rich in history as it is in character, and developers were very intentional about preserving the integrity of this beautiful architectural structure.
